C. Roland Vaughn III (Chairman of the Board of Trustees)
The son of Clarence R. Vaughn, Jr., owns 4V Enterprises, a sales and marketing consulting firm in Conyers, Georgia. He was formerly the Chief Marketing Officer for Beers/Skanska in Atlanta, GA. Earlier in his career, he served as City Manager and Chief of Police of Conyers and Chief Deputy of Rockdale County, GA and also served as President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
James P. Vaughn, Ph. D. (Vice Chairman)
The son of James A. Vaughn, Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Cancer Biology at Wake Forest School of Medicine. His current work focuses on studying antitumor strategies for the treatment of breast cancer and hunting for genes of cancer resistance. He has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia. He graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Vaughn received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Virginia. His work in the journal Cell proposed the first model of zones of initiation in mammalian DNA replication, and his work in the journal JBC identified the DHX36 gene as G4 Resolvase 1.
Alvin H. Vaughn
The son of Clarence R. Vaughn, Jr., is the owner of Hwy 138 Enterprises, a land development company in Conyers, Georgia, that develops residential and commercial properties. He was previously in the cattle farming arena, raising registered Charolais and crossbred commercial cattle.
Victoria Vaughn
The daughter of James P. Vaughn, Ph. D., Victoria Vaughn, is an award-winning director, cinematographer and animator. She honed her craft at NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she studied under the mentorship of Academy Award-winning animator John Canemaker. Her first short “The Magnifying Glass” screened at several festivals, including the Woman’s Independent Film Festival, where it took home awards for “Best Animated Short”, “Best Direction for Animation” and “Best Visuals”. After graduating, Victoria has traveled through the U.S. and Switzerland with her camera and a backpack full of lenses documenting everything from transformer substations and animal conservationists, to fashion shows and rock stars. Victoria now works for Brit + Co in San Francisco creating an assortment of daily video content for their online publication.
James L. Watt
An attorney in Palm Beach, Florida served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives. In 1990 he served as Special Counsel for the U.S. Senate HUD Investigation and was a County Commissioner for Palm Beach County, Florida.

Clarence R. Vaughn, Jr
The nephew of Lewis and Varina Vaughn, was born and raised in Conyers, Georgia. He entered the armed forces during World War II as a second lieutenant, was promoted to the rank of Captain and received the bronze star for meritorious service. Upon his return, he graduated from the University of Georgia Law School, passed the State Bar and began practice with his father, Clarence R. Vaughn, Sr.
In 1982 he was elected the first judge of the Superior Court in the Rockdale Judicial Circuit in Conyers, Georgia and served as chief judge until his retirement in 2001. Judge Vaughn practiced law for 58 years, served in the General Assembly of Georgia for 24 years and served as House Majority Leader for eight years. Judge Vaughn passed away March 26, 2007.
James A. Vaughn, Jr., M.D.
The nephew of Lewis and Varina Vaughn is a retired family physician who practiced in Coral Gables, Florida since 1950. Mr. Vaughn was a captain with the U.S. Medical Corp. at West Point and Trieste, Italy. He served on the Crime Commission of Greater Miami and is one of the founders of South Miami Hospital where he served on its Governing Board for 30 years. Dr. Vaughn passed away May 14, 2017.
